The Monastery

The Monastery is a magnificent building designed by Edward Welby Pugin and was listed in the world’s 100 most endangered sites. Following an extensive restoration scheme, the hidden treasure is now a beautiful and stunning location for a range of high-end corporate, social and cultural occasions.

This stunning Grade I listed gothic venue is the perfect setting for any special event. Whether a celebratory banquet, wedding or honouring an achievement, there is no better place for pride to take centre stage.

We regularly host the BBC for live performances and are proud to be home to Manchester’s incredible Camerata Orchestra. If awesome acoustics are integral to your live event, talk to us. Our acoustics are legendary, see for yourself.

Located in East Manchester a short drive from Manchester city centre, well connected by public transport and with ample free parking, we’re conveniently located and beautifully formed!

Since 2018, Venues All Areas & The Events Architect have organised our events, each for between 300 and 500 staff. Quite simply, they have all been a phenomenal success. Our Summer Party now runs over three days, involving everything from marquees, refined catering, smart sleeping tents, bands, and a myriad of other activities (even ice cream vans!). Our Christmas Party is traditional black tie, which they somehow also make special and out of the ordinary. They challenge themselves to go above and beyond, and they SUCCEED, whilst keeping within the all-important budget!
