The BCEC

The BCEC (Birmingham Conference and Events Centre) is located in the heart of Birmingham’s city centre, just a minutes’ walk from Birmingham New Street Station and adjacent to the Holiday Inn Birmingham.  We offer some of the largest event spaces in the city ideal for conferences, exhibitions, board meetings, award dinners, networking and charity events.

Our venue has three floors of flexible meeting spaces for you to choose from. We have the Mercian Suite which can be opened out and makes fabulous Asian Wedding venue, or split up to give you a conference area with breakout and refreshment areas. Each meeting room has been designed for comfort and with productivity in mind. Throughout the BCEC, contemporary and neutral decor makes the most of natural daylight from its glass facade on Birmingham’s modernized New Street Station.

Our team of experts will take the guess work out of planning, and tailor the right package to suit your event. Whether it be a small board meeting, training programme across multiple rooms or large-scale conference or exhibition, we provide bespoke solutions that ensure your event is effective and memorable.

The Mercian

Dominating the second floor of The BCEC is the Mercian, a dedicated event space in its own right, offering private access and a pre-function reception space overlooking Hill Street. ​The Mercian is fully flexible and can be divided into two separate event spaces or used in tandem for a single multi-use event.  The function suite features surround sound Bose speakers, an inbuilt 5m NEC screen for presentations and is a blank canvas to accommodate staging, a dancefloor or pod-style exhibition space to create the ideal event that’s right for you.

Our large scale first floor boasts 16 individual meeting suites with two large break out foyers, all of which feature the same high standards of equipment that you would expect from the BCEC

Our newly refurbished ground floor comprises of 7 flexible spaces, with The Rookeries Suite being the largest. This space has been designed from the mind of an event expert as a blank canvas with fully-flexible with fold-away walls.

Since 2018, Venues All Areas & The Events Architect have organised our events, each for between 300 and 500 staff. Quite simply, they have all been a phenomenal success. Our Summer Party now runs over three days, involving everything from marquees, refined catering, smart sleeping tents, bands, and a myriad of other activities (even ice cream vans!). Our Christmas Party is traditional black tie, which they somehow also make special and out of the ordinary. They challenge themselves to go above and beyond, and they SUCCEED, whilst keeping within the all-important budget!
