Wonderland Party

We were privileged to work with this amazing family to create a themed joint 18th, 21st, 50th and 80th Birthday Wonderland Party for 280 guests.  The flow of the event was designed to represent Alice’s Journey.

We began in the car park; where guests were greeted by glamorous White Rabbits encouraging them up the daisy-chain lit pathway to the Wonderland Marquee.

The entrance to the Wonderland Party Marquee was adorned with a giant 9 foot keyhole surrounded by foliage and oversized flowers. Before walking through the keyhole, guests were given a ‘Drink Me’ potion, in a little glass bottle with key, to resize for Wonderland.

The Cheshire Cat Bar reception area had a host of red umbrellas decorated with white spots hanging from the ceiling like upside-down toadstools. Waiting staff, in Cheshire Cat make up, served bubbles and canapés from the LED lit bars while guests mingled among the This Way, That Way signs, giant clock etc…and peered through the looking glass at the seating plan.

After the reception, we revealed The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party and guests were seated at long tables dressed in black linen adorned with mad paraphernalia—foliage, vintage books, clocks, tea pots etc.. with giant candelabra centrepieces and multi coloured chairs. The lighting was designed to give the impression of being under the forest canopy. Huge screens hung from the ceiling with images of the Mad Hatter and other Wonderland characters. The White Rabbit kept popping up at intervals around the room and the delicious 2 course meal was served by staff dressed as the Mad Hatter.

As soon as dinner and speeches were over, the band begun and the Queen of Hearts casino opened. The atmosphere in the casino was dark and glamorous with black walls, chandeliers, black and white soft seating with jewelled cushions, roulette and black-jack tables. Giant playing cards adorned the walls and the croupiers wore Queen of Hearts crowns.

While guest were enjoying relaxing in the casino, helping themselves to the opulent cheese board and dancing to the band, we sneaked a couple of extra items into the reception marquee to surprise them – A Mobile Cocktail Pod serving Pink Flamingos and Jabberwocky Mojitos plus a  Vintage Sweet Trolley with Wonderland themed sweets.

As the younger crowd wanted to party on, we provided a silent disco and a glamping village. To ensure a safe environment, we included St Johns Ambulance and overnight security. Sending them off the next day rejuvenated after hearty bacon and egg butties.

We are not sure who enjoyed the event more, the guests or us!

Client feedback: I hope both your ears are burning ….as everyone is saying how marvellous the event was, attention to detail and how super both of you are.  Genuinely we were bowled away. It is just great to keep hearing from people about the great stories and lovely time they had.  If one person has said it is the “best party they have ever been to” there must be hundreds! The problem is I am not sleeping well as I keep reliving moments of happiness from the event!
