Surrey Birthday Party

What an honour to be asked to organize a Surrey birthday party for this wonderful family’s joint 50th, 21st and 18th! Having sat down to discuss requirements, we came up with a theme and plan to suit all the age groups.

While the family wanted a black tie event, they also wanted it to be fun and relaxed with a sporty twist. Guest numbers would be around 200 for a seated 2 course menu.

The complicated part was how to cover their extensive garden incorporating a lovely mature tree in the middle. It took three stretch tents linked together to do it! Another tricky element was having to put a large green loo trailer on the drive which guest would pass on arrival. Our simple idea of turning it into a summer lawn with giant paper daisy’s made it a fun talking point.

Continuing the daisy theme we dressed the trunk of the  tree inside the tent with them and popped the white LED lit DJ booth and dance floor in front creating a central WOW focus point.

Long tables dressed in white linen with fresh floral table centre pieces and fun multi coloured chairs sat either side of the dance floor. The Pavilion style shed, dressed with the family’s sports shirts and a mobile of rugby and tennis balls became the bar.

Soft furnishing included 4 seating areas in white with bright colorful cushions. We thank you Sarah for the lovely large pots you had planted with gorgeous summer flowers as they really helped dress the set.

Arrival champagne and canapés greeted the guests. After a delicious cold buffet and the heart-warming speeches, guests hit the dance floor and the Pavilion bar. At midnight we brought out a hot snack for everyone followed by a brilliantly fun silent disco till 2.00am

As the age group was mixed, our brief was for it to be full of fun with a formal but not stuffy ambience and she did exactly that.  She created a once-in-a-lifetime family birthday celebration that we shall never forget.
