We look forward to welcoming you to the Bluebell Railway for an unforgettable and unique experience. Imagine travelling through 11 miles of glorious Sussex scenery behind a steam engine. Bluebell Railway offers that and so much more for corporate and private events.

Bluebell Railway was one of the first preserved heritage lines in the country, resulting in one of the finest collections of vintage steam locomotives and carriages – many of which were preserved straight out of service from British Railways.

During your visit, learn about the history and science of the industrial age, experience the thrill of getting up close to a working steam locomotive and luxuriate in the comfort and style of a bygone era. Families can enjoy getting hands-on in our interactive exhibitions, and children can play in our play and picnic areas while parents relax with a cuppa.

Meet railway staff in period clothing, see original working signal boxes, and step back in time as you board our vintage carriages. Our four stations are preserved in different periods of history including Victorian, 1930s and 1950s.

Civil Ceremonies at the Bluebell Railway can be held in stations at either Sheffield Park or Horsted Keynes.  At both stations there are facilities for drinks on the platform for you and your party after the ceremony.

Private Charter

Step aboard the fabulous Golden Arrow Dining Train for a truly memorable experience. You and your guests will travel in 1920s luxury whilst enjoying fine food and wines silver-served to you by experienced and attentive staff as you journey through the delightful Sussex countryside that surrounds our line. The Golden Arrow is made up of three carriages and is steam-hauled by one of our historic locomotives. The train recreates the fabulous Golden Arrow which once linked London and Paris, complete with the style and panache which made it one of the most glamorous and famous trains in the world.

Since 2018, Venues All Areas & The Events Architect have organised our events, each for between 300 and 500 staff. Quite simply, they have all been a phenomenal success. Our Summer Party now runs over three days, involving everything from marquees, refined catering, smart sleeping tents, bands, and a myriad of other activities (even ice cream vans!). Our Christmas Party is traditional black tie, which they somehow also make special and out of the ordinary.
