Avington Park

Avington Park is a beautiful, family-owned private estate just east of Winchester. Set in its own private parkland of 150 acres, along the banks of the River Itchen, for centuries Avington has served as a playground to both Kings and Royal Courtiers. During this time, it became a prestigious party palace at the heart of the Royal Court and hosted King Charles II with his most famous mistress, Nell Gwynn

Some four centuries later the love of lavish parties continues. Whether it is a wedding, private event, business retreat or conference, indulge in the exclusive use of the estate and continue the historic tradition of parties & events here at Avington Park.

With exclusive use of either our Library or Orangery, there is both privacy and elegance found here at Avington.

Versailles Ballroom. The naturally lit, resplendent ballroom overlooks the rolling parkland and Lake. The room basks in glorious sunsets making it a breath-taking backdrop for special events, corporate meetings and dinners.

Library

Library. At once both decadent and intimate, surrounded by books and history, the library is a sophisticated backdrop to your business proceedings or private dining event. There is easy access into the orangeries and numerous doors that open up on to the South Lawn and traditional English gardens.

Orangery

Orangery. Flooded by natural light and the manicured South lawn as the backdrop, the Orangery provides the perfect space for weddings, parties and indoor team building workshops. The living walls bursting with jasmine, lemons and lime trees bring the outside in.

Since 2018, Venues All Areas & The Events Architect have organised our events, each for between 300 and 500 staff. Quite simply, they have all been a phenomenal success. Our Summer Party now runs over three days, involving everything from marquees, refined catering, smart sleeping tents, bands, and a myriad of other activities (even ice cream vans!). Our Christmas Party is traditional black tie, which they somehow also make special and out of the ordinary. They challenge themselves to go above and beyond, and they SUCCEED, whilst keeping within the all-important budget!
